Definitions:

Professional Technical degree: Prepares you for immediate employment. May lead to an associate of applied science degree or technical certificate. Those who earn an associate of applied science degree in a Professional Technical field can choose to transfer to certain universities.  

Associate degree: An academic undergraduate degree offered by a two-year college after the required course of study has been successfully completed. An Associate’s degree allows a student to then transfer on to a four-year institution. 

Bachelor degree: An academic undergraduate degree offered by a college or university after the required course of study has been successfully completed.

Master degree: An academic post graduate degree granted to individuals who have undergone a course of study demonstrating a mastery of a specific field of study or area of professional practice. A student must earn their bachelor’s degree prior to entering a masters program.
